Ski Touring
St Hilaire is the ideal base for exploring the couloirs that wind down through the eastern wall of the Chartreuse. From the terrace of the Grange aux Loups cast your eyes to the north-east to trace lines down the Pas de Rocheplane and Pas de Montbrun. To the south you can see the stark ramparts of the Dent de Crolles.
It is not all extreme skiing. At the Col du Coq you can tour to the summit of the Bec Charvet or the Dome de Pravouta, both accessible on snowshoes. Further north on the Plateau de Petit Roche is the Col de l'Alpe and Pas de
